August 21, 2003VELVET REVOLVER, the new band featuring GUNS N' ROSES alumni Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, David Kushner of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland, are expected to ink a long-term deal with RCA Records, according to Slash's official fan site (www.snakepit.org). "As far as we know, no contract has yet been signed, but according to our source [close to the band], VELVET REVOLVER has chosen RCA Records, and RCA has chosen VELVET REVOLVER to be their next big thing!" reads a post on the site.
As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER recently abandoned plans to issue a live EP/DVD of their June 19 Los Angeles performance and are said to be concentrating on writing the material for their full-length debut, tentatively due in early 2004.
